Astrology isn’t just about signs and symbols — it’s a tool for navigating real life.

Hello and welcome to Astrology with Alisa. I’m your host, Alisa Dixon, and I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s dive in.

It is Scorpio season, you guys, and I'm seeing signs of it everywhere through the Halloween decorations I pass driving through my neighborhood—ghosts hanging from trees, skeletons rising up out of people‘s lawns, spiders decorating windows and doors. Death is in the air. It’s celebrated this time of year through Halloween and through worldwide traditions that remember and celebrate the spirits of those who have passed. There’s a reason these traditions all fall around this time—during Scorpio season, a time when we collectively become a little more comfortable, and even fascinated, with all things mysterious, murky, and non-living. Even the icky, creepy-crawly bugs get celebrated. That’s Scorpio: getting comfortable in what’s normally uncomfortable. Finding beauty in what others might fear.

And right on cue, there’s another layer to this. The veil feels thinner. You can sense it, right? The way the air feels charged, the way the lights flicker, the way dreams seem to carry a little more meaning lately. Every year when the Sun moves into Scorpio, we’re invited to go deeper—into mystery, into transformation, into the unseen. And this year, there’s something extra magical in the mix. Because Neptune—the planet that rules dreams, intuition, imagination, and spirit—has quietly drifted back into Pisces, its home sign. When Neptune moves through Pisces, our intuition sharpens. The line between this world and the next becomes softer, more fluid. And when Scorpio and Pisces energy meet, it’s like two rivers merging—a perfect current for intuitive connection. So over the next few weeks, pay attention. Messages are easier to receive right now.

A few nights ago, within hours of the Sun entering Scorpio, I had one of those moments. It was the middle of the night, and my daughter came into my bed saying she couldn’t sleep. She told me she was seeing faces. Now most people might brush that off—say it was shadows or a dream—but I had just checked the transits before going to bed. Mars and Mercury were already in Scorpio where they’ve been for a while; the Moon was there too, and now the Sun had joined them. Four planets, all in Scorpio. The energy was thick. The veil was open. So when she said she was seeing faces, I wasn’t surprised. And I believed her. Because that’s Scorpio—the part of the zodiac that peers beneath the surface, that sees what others don’t.

This season always makes me think of my grandmother. She visits me often through flickering lights that follow me around the house and through I Love Lucy, our favorite show we used to watch together. Sometimes, I even get to see her in my dreams. One of the most vivid dreams I had recently— I was on a video call, and hers was the face in the video, but she wasn’t saying anything, and suddenly I realized she was really there. It wasn’t a call. She was showing me her face. That’s Neptune in Pisces energy—bridging two worlds through dreams and symbols and emotion.

And sometimes, Neptune’s magic shows up in real life too. The summer before last, I was traveling, and I happened to be right on my Neptune line. If you’re not familiar with astrocartography, it’s a way of mapping your birth chart onto the Earth—showing where each planet’s energy is strongest for you. If you travel to a place where your Neptune line runs, your intuition, imagination, and spiritual sensitivity are often heightened. While I was there, we stopped at this old-fashioned diner—you know, the kind with a country store attached with vintage dolls, old TVs, all kinds of trinkets from decades ago. I was browsing the shelves when one of the TVs suddenly turned on and started playing I Love Lucy. In that moment, I knew it was my grandmother. I felt her. I smiled and watched TV for a little while with her. It was magic. Later, I looked at a photo I took in that same spot, and the TV was off. But I had seen it on. And that’s Neptune—blurring the line between physical and spiritual.

Months later, a medium I work with validated the whole thing. She said my grandmother mentioned that diner and that she had a hand in me starting this podcast. At first I didn’t understand what she meant. But then she said something that gave me chills: she asked if there had been some kind of phone call connected to me starting my podcast. I paused, because I couldn’t think of one right away. But a few minutes later, it hit me. On that same trip—within twenty-four hours of that diner experience—I had listened to an episode of the Old Soul New Soul Astrology Podcast, where Thomas Miller was promoting an upcoming astrology speed-read session. I marked my calendar right away for the registration day, because I knew I wanted to attend, and I had this strong feeling it would fill up fast. I got in. And at the end of that speed read, Thomas invited me to guest on the Fun Astrology Podcast. A few days later, he and I had a phone call to talk through the logistics of how that guest spot would work. And that’s when I realized—that was the phone call my grandmother was talking about. She wasn’t just watching over me and visiting from time to time. She was helping make it happen. Because that experience with Thomas gave me the confidence to step out on my own sooner than I ever would have done otherwise. She knew exactly what she was doing—nudging things into place so I would finally take that leap.

And the astrology behind it all makes perfect sense, too. In my birth chart, Neptune sits in my twelfth house—the house it naturally rules. We call that accidental dignity. That’s when a planet lands in the house it naturally governs in the natural zodiac wheel. Since Pisces rules the twelfth house, having Neptune there gives it a little extra strength—almost like the volume’s turned up. So while anyone can have intuitive or spiritual experiences, some charts are simply a bit more tuned in to them. And mine happens to be one of those. That day in the diner, I was literally on my Neptune line geographically—in a location where my Neptune energy is amplified through astrocartography. So I had Neptune a little louder in my chart, Neptune beneath my feet on location, and Neptune transiting in Pisces—its home sign—all working together in that moment.

Now Neptune has been traveling through Pisces since 2011, and it spends about fourteen years in each sign—so it’s a generational influence, much like Pluto in that sense, which we talked about last week. Neptune dipped into Aries earlier this year—on March 30th, 2025—but it’s retrograded back into Pisces for one final visit. And this is the last time in our lifetimes that Neptune will be in Pisces. So if you’re open to deepening your intuition, to building a bridge between worlds, this is a beautiful window to do it. And if you’re not into it—don’t worry, nothing is going to be forced on you. But if you are curious—between now and the end of January, the energy is wide open.

So be still, be curious, and just notice what shows up—especially through your dreams. Funny—just a few days ago, my stepdaughter Cayleen stopped by. She’s a Pisces Sun, and she’s finishing up her Saturn return, through which she’s launched her own nonprofit and has been figuring out balance and boundaries—all themes for a person with a Sun and Saturn in Pisces. She told me she’d been overdoing things at work to the point she was getting sick, so I asked, “Are you at least getting enough sleep?” She laughed and said, absolutely. Without missing a beat, I realized what a silly question that was. Of course she was sleeping enough—she’s a Pisces! They need that dream world. And it made me smile, because with my Capricorn Moon and Rising, I’ll sacrifice sleep or fun or food to get things done. But not Cayleen. She honors that Neptunian need for rest. That’s the lesson of Pisces—that slowing down is productive. Because in that stillness, we reconnect with our spirit.

So as Neptune moves through these final degrees of Pisces, and the Sun travels through Scorpio, you might notice your own intuition awakening. Dreams might feel more vivid. Synchronicities might happen more often. You might feel a presence, or a nudge, or a message coming through in subtle ways. If that excites you—this is a beautiful time to tune in. Meditate, journal, ask for signs, and notice what comes through. And if that feels a little too intense—that’s okay too. You can set boundaries in spirit just like in real life. If you ever sense energy that feels uncomfortable, you can simply say, “Thank you for visiting, but please leave me be.” And they will. That’s something I tell my daughter too. Kids are often deeply intuitive—especially with strong Moon-Neptune or Mercury-Pluto placements—because they haven’t learned yet to shut down those subtle senses.

So wherever you are in your own journey, stay open to connection, but also grounded. Neptune and Scorpio together remind us that energy never disappears—it only changes form. We can stay connected to our loved ones, to our higher self, to the unseen—through love, awareness, and intention. So pay attention over these next few weeks. Notice the dreams, the flickers, the messages that find you. Because right now, as Neptune whispers from Pisces and the Sun shines through Scorpio’s depths, the veil really is thinner. And all you have to do… is listen.
