Astrology isn't just about signs and symbols, it's a tool for navigating real life. Hello and welcome to Astrology with Alisa. I'm your host Alisa Dixon, and I'm so glad you're here. Let's dive in.
You guys — the holiday season is here. Every year it sneaks up on me, and suddenly I’m completely overwhelmed. And I know I’m not alone in that. So today’s episode is your Holiday Survival Guide by Zodiac Sign — a way to understand what your unique energy needs so you can stay grounded, present, and actually enjoy the holidays instead of getting swept up in the stress.
Because as magical as the holidays can be, they are also… a LOT. There’s pressure. There are expectations. There’s this quiet hope we all carry for that “perfect” holiday moment that suddenly brings everyone together and just feels good. And the truth? I’ve had so many holidays that didn’t go the way I hoped — not because anything was wrong, but because my expectations were high, my emotions were tender, and I didn’t really understand what I needed to feel grounded in all the noise and around all the different personalities that can either blend beautifully or clash instantly.
And that’s where your Big Three become your secret weapon. Your Moon is your emotional wiring — what hits you first, what soothes you, and what brings you back into balance. Your Sun is your core identity — what helps you feel like yourself when you’re surrounded by family, tradition, and expectations. And your Rising sign is how you navigate the room — how you read the energy and how you connect with others in real time. All three get louder during the holidays. All three shape how you experience the day. And all three deserve a little care and attention.
So as we go sign by sign today, listen for all three — your Sun, your Moon, and your Rising. Because depending on the moment, any one of them can be the part of you that needs support. Alright — let’s get into this. Here is your sign-by-sign Holiday Survival Guide: what sets you off, what steadies you, and how to keep your energy good all day long.
Aries people get frustrated quickly when things slow down — waiting forever to eat, being around slow-moving people, or conversations that drag on. You need movement, momentum, and a sense that something is happening. So build movement into your day — take a walk, run an errand. Your body resets your energy.
Taurus gets thrown off when things feel rushed, uncomfortable, or out of rhythm. You need steadiness, comfort, and a moment to settle in. So claim one cozy spot for yourself — a warm drink, a soft blanket, a comfortable chair. A grounded space calms your whole system.
Gemini gets overwhelmed when you’re stuck in one heavy conversation with no escape. You need mental movement, variety, and flow. So rotate people, start a game, step outside, or gently shift the topic. You feel better when the energy circulates.
Cancer gets triggered by conflict, sharp comments, or emotional insensitivity. You feel the tone of the room before anyone else notices it. So if you need to, slip into the kitchen for a moment, take two minutes alone, or step outside and breathe. You refill quickly when you feel safe.
Leo struggles the most when you’re not seen, not appreciated, or not included. Your heart needs warmth and connection. So participate — lead a toast, help host, bring a dish. You shine when you’re included.
Virgo gets rattled by mess, disorganization, or unclear plans. Your nervous system settles when things make sense. So claim one task — set the table, organize timing, tidy a small space. Instant grounding.
Libra cannot stand tension, raised voices, or emotional imbalance. You need harmony to stay centered. So if you need to, reset the vibe — put on music, light a candle, or take a small breather. Your peace comes from balance.
Scorpio gets triggered by fake interactions, forced cheerfulness, or surface-level conversation. You crave depth, authenticity, and real connection. So find one person you can be real with — or take solitude when you need it. You regain your power when the moment feels real.
Sagittarius gets restless when things feel too rigid or too serious. You need freedom, laughter, and a little adventure. So create one small moment of freedom — take a walk, go on a quick drive, add something spontaneous. Your spirit needs space.
Capricorn gets overwhelmed when people are messy, unreliable, or when the day slips off schedule. You need order and good timing. So if you need to, take charge of one simple thing — the timing, the flow, the plan. Keeping things on track keeps you calm.
Aquarius gets overloaded when there’s too much emotion, too much intensity, or too many expectations at once. You need space and independence to stay balanced. So step away for a moment — a walk, a quiet room, a little intentional distance. Space helps you come back as the best version of yourself.
Pisces struggles when the emotions around you start blending together and you can’t tell what belongs to you and what doesn’t. Your system takes things in deeply, and it’s easy to absorb more than you meant to. So step away for a quiet moment — a breath, a pause, a little solitude. A moment of stillness resets your whole system.
And really… that’s true for all of us. Holiday expectations can run high. We all want connection. We all want meaning. We all want that moment that feels like something out of a movie. But the real magic comes from knowing yourself and honoring what your energy needs to stay steady and grounded.
Your Big Three — your Sun, Moon, and Rising — all show up on a holiday. So support all three. And before I let you go, I checked where the Moon will be on Thanksgiving, and it actually made me laugh because it’s just so perfect. The day starts with the Moon in Aquarius — which is such a great vibe for Thanksgiving. It’s friendly, it’s social, it brings out a sense of community. People mingling, talking, helping, floating from room to room in that open, everyone-connects-in-their-own-way kind of energy.
And then, right when the turkey starts doing its usual sleepy magic, the Moon slides into Pisces — which is basically the universal cue to go take a nap. So if the whole house gets quiet and dreamy and everyone drifts into that cozy post-meal haze? It’s not just the turkey. The Pisces Moon is absolutely helping with that vibe. And I do need to tell you — there is a short void-of-course Moon from 12:53 pm until 2:23 pm Eastern. If you can, this is a great time to take a break. If not, just roll with any potential hiccups that may arise.
You guys — I am so thankful for all of you tuning in week after week with me. I hope this episode helps you support yourself as you move through the holiday season. And if you found this episode helpful, please share it with a friend — or maybe even a few family members you’ll be spending the day with. You can actually turn this into a fun little game: try guessing people’s signs based on how they’re showing up with each other. I did that one year, and it definitely took the edge off a little bit. It gave me something to smile about instead of spiraling into stress.
