Sagittarius Season & Nodal Crossroads — When Destiny Lights Up Your Next Step ✨

Alisa Dixon Episode 45

Send me a Text Message!

Sagittarius season invites us to step beyond the familiar and into experiences that stretch our perspective. In this episode, I explore why long-distance travel, faith, and the search for meaning all live in the 9th house — and how modern life has changed the way we relate to these ancient themes.

I also share a powerful listener story that perfectly captures Sagittarius energy. Their North Node in Sagittarius was activated within one degree of last week’s Gemini Full Moon, and the transiting lunar nodes were squaring their chart — creating a profound crossroads moment that unfolded through an unexpected, hope-filled turn of events. It’s a beautiful example of how nodal activations can open a path forward when we’re willing to take a leap of faith.

You’ll learn:
💫 Why Sagittarius rules long-distance travel, belief systems, optimism, and the willingness to leap without guarantees.
💫 How the Gemini–Sagittarius axis shapes the shift from inherited beliefs to chosen beliefs.
💫 What makes nodal activations so powerful — especially when the Full Moon lands within a degree of your chart.
💫 How this listener’s story illustrates the magic of Sagittarius and the meaning that appears when trust meets timing.
💫 Why I’m taking a short Sagittarius-style break to reset, reflect, and return refreshed for 2026.

If you’ve been craving perspective, movement, or a reconnection with your sense of faith and possibility, this episode will help you understand the Sag energy unfolding right now — and how to work with it in your own life.

Astrology isn't just about signs and symbols—it's a tool for navigating real life.Hello and welcome to Astrology with Alisa. I'm your host, Alisa Dixon, and I'm so glad you're here. Let's dive in.

It is Sagittarius season, you guys. And this week, in addition to getting things ready for the holidays, I’m also preparing for a big trip. My family and I are heading to Costa Rica — a place my husband has wanted to visit for years — and we finally said, “Why not now?” I almost always have the travel bug. I’m always on the go — sometimes just short distances in my day-to-day life, the 3rd-house kind of travel. And other times, it’s long distances across the country or out of it — the 9th-house kind of travel.

As I was packing this week, I found myself thinking about how in our world today, long-distance travel has become so easy that hopping on a plane almost feels casual — almost like another version of running errands. But energetically, it’s not the same at all. 9th-house travel is different. It stretches you. It exposes you to new cultures, new landscapes, new ideas. It expands you. And that is so perfectly Sagittarius.

Sag is also the ruler of the 9th house in the natural wheel — the place of truth, beliefs, faith, optimism, and the search for meaning. And it hit me this week why travel and beliefs share a house in astrology — because anytime you go far from home, you’re expanding your inner world, too. You’re learning, growing, trusting. Very Sagittarius.

People sometimes say to me: “Alisa, there are so many significations in a single house. How does it all go together?” And the truth is — we don’t always see the connections because of the world we live in now. We have phones. We have FaceTime. We have an entire digital network that keeps us close to people no matter where we are.

But think back thousands of years… When someone left home for a long journey, there was no way to communicate back. No safe arrival text. No “I’m okay.” No updates. A long-distance trip was often a one-way journey. Sometimes a permanent move.

I remember almost 20 years ago when I moved from Connecticut to Ohio. It was a leap of faith — a Sag-style leap. I was ready to start a new chapter, follow the love story, and step into a life that didn’t fully exist yet. But even then — in the back of my mind — I knew: “If it doesn’t work out, I can always go home.” It would be hard, but not impossible. And thankfully, everything worked out beautifully. I stayed in Ohio, married the man, built the life, and stayed connected to home through phones and messages and technology.

But imagine making a move like that in ancient times — with no guarantee, no communication, no safety net. That is Sagittarius: the willingness to leave with only what you can carry, to trust the road ahead, to believe that something meaningful awaits you, to leap — and trust the landing. It’s where that stereotype of the bohemian Sag traveler comes from — the long hair, the backpack, the open-road spirit, the stories around a campfire. Not every Sagittarius or Sag rising fits that exact archetype — but the spirit of it is real.

There’s a natural optimism there, a sense of adventure, a belief that life is happening for them, not to them. And historically, the people who took those long, uncertain journeys were often chasing something: a better life, a deeper truth.

Which brings us back to the Gemini–Sagittarius axis. Last week, we talked all about Gemini — the sign of communication, connection, curiosity. Gemini rules the details, the local environment, the conversations that weave our daily life together. Sagittarius is the opposite. Gemini brings us close. Sag pulls us far away. Gemini connects us to the familiar. Sag invites us to disconnect — to expand our world through travel, learning, and experience.

Gemini is the 3rd house — early education, the beliefs we inherit. Sagittarius is the 9th house — higher education, philosophy, the beliefs we choose. Sag asks: “Does what you were taught still feel true for you?” Sag invites you to expand. To explore. To go beyond what you’ve known.

And after last week’s episode, unpacking the Gemini Full Moon, I received a message from a listener that gave me goosebumps. This person has their North Node in Sagittarius — which means their soul growth is tied to faith, trusting the unknown, and taking leaps without guarantees. And recently, they were facing an impossible situation with their beloved dog — a painful crossroads that felt heavy and heartbreaking. They had made the appointment to euthanize her the following week.

But on the day of that powerful Gemini Full Moon — the one at 13 degrees, with the lunar nodes also at 13 degrees — that perfect mutable cross forming in the sky… they got a call. Someone had responded to their ad to rehome the dog. And not just any home — a 20-acre farm. A perfect environment for her breed. A place where this sweet dog could truly thrive.

The listener wrote: “The Universe had our backs.” And I felt that. Because this is exactly how Sagittarius energy works — the leap, the uncertainty, the moment where you say, “I don’t know how this will turn out…” and life responds with a path forward.

And here’s the part that really struck me: their North Node in Sagittarius is at 14 degrees — which means their South Node in Gemini is also at 14 degrees. Only one degree away from this Full Moon. And it wasn’t just the Full Moon activating their North and South Node. The transiting Virgo–Pisces lunar nodes were also squaring this person’s natal nodes — creating a major crossroads moment. A moment the Full Moon helped illuminate so clearly.

So this wasn’t just a Full Moon story — it was a nodal activation, directly lighting up their soul path. A moment of direction. A moment that asked for trust and delivered meaning in return. It’s such a beautiful example of how astrology plays out in real time. Thank you to this listener for sharing this story — and I’m so grateful it had such a hopeful ending.

So in keeping with the Sagittarius spirit, I’m going to take the next couple of weeks to truly unplug — to step away from routine, to get some distance, to expand my perspective, to let the experiences of this year settle and make space for what’s coming next. A true Sagittarius reset.

But I’m not leaving you without episodes. While I’m away, I’ll be bringing back a few of your favorite episodes from earlier in the podcast — the ones listeners still write to me about. So you’ll still have astrology to listen to while I refill my cup and get ready for 2026. And if you’re still holiday shopping or looking for something meaningful for the astrology lover in your life — I have gift cards available on my website.

As always, I love and appreciate you all. Thank you so much for listening. Take care, and I’ll see you next time.
